How This Calculator Works

Cycle Time (sec) = Available Time (sec) รท Units Produced Units per Hour = 3600 รท Cycle Time (sec)

For accurate results: observe the line for a full 30-60 minutes, count actual completed units (not units started). Take 3 readings and average them.

How to Measure Cycle Time Accurately

Cycle time measured from daily production logs is an average over the entire period โ€” it includes minor stops, speed variations and other real-world losses. This is the number to use for capacity planning. The ideal cycle time (fastest possible, used in OEE) should be measured separately during a short run with no interruptions.
